A time ago they used to 'claim' to help not only the JW in the location hit. Nowadays, they make sure to put on the website 'help our brothers and sisters'.

as it is well known, the gb consider the un as a high-class enemy of god's kingdom, believing it is the beast mentioned in revelation.
this interpretation was totally from f. franz and n. knorr, this last one still being reagarded every now and then as the one who gave the speech with this "new light".

Edit 4 > I think they didn't really care about deleting the article since there are plenty of them. You just have to type "UN" on the search engine of the website. It's incrible as there isn't anything about the UN as the "Beast" but all of them is about the UN taking the JWs side in questions of religious freedom.

Darkspilver, I just checked it again and I can't find the article anywhere in the website!
It was in that "BREAKING NEWS" part. The headline was something like "Russia bans the New World Translation. JW will appeal to the UN human rights comitee!

I just realized now, (ironically by checking on JW.ORG) that the ECHR (European Court of Human Rights), the government agency that has been literally SAVING the JWs to be banned in so many countries - and they are very thankful for that, as they say in their recent purple history book - is an agency of the UN!
As it is well known, the GB consider the UN as a high-class enemy of God's kingdom, believing it is the beast mentioned in Revelation. This interpretation was totally from F. Franz and N. Knorr, this last one still being reagarded every now and then as the one who gave the speech with this "new light". (actually their prophecy that the League of Nations would ressurge as the UN made then very proud of themselves when it actually happened and it was frequently used as proof that "God was leading the ORG")
The most important point in their contraditon is that, according to the book of Revelation, the sin of the nations would be that they would trust their "salvation" to the beast (the UN) instead of to God. Every time the nations used the UN to try to bring peace or solve conflicts (good motivated reasons) the Society criticized it, as being an example of the nations "worshiping the Beast". Well, now we are seeing the JW often being threatened of being banned (sometimes for prejudice but sometimes for actual reasons as the blood question, disfellowshiping or their total control of the members' lives) and instead of an miraculous act of saving from Jehovah, they are begging the help of the ECHR, which is part of the UN, to save them. They are simply and clearly worshiping the Beast.
What is crazy is that if they are right about their own prophecy interpretations, they are going out of God's favor.
But, let's be honest. We know what is going to happen. In some years a "new Revelation book" will be released in a convention, containing "new light", in what will show the UN as in the good side (probably as the "Earth swallowing the river of persecution") and the Beast being an enemy more recent (maybe the totalitarian regimes).
What are your bets?

Jehovah's Witnesses in 1947 were not neutral! They would have voted Republican (i.e. Liberal)
by ILoveTTATT2 inback in 1947, the republican party was the "liberal" party.. i was reading an awake from 1947 and found out that jw's were not really neutral at all!
they clearly supported american democracy and rejected fascism and communism!their twist was that, of course, the catholic church and the protestants were in bed with the nazis, and if just the german people were allowed to be jehovah's witnesses, they would also embrace freedom and reject nazism.i am not making this up.. apparently the german people could not think right in 1947... that's why they did not want american freedom and democracy... where jw's would be free to preach!what?.

When was the book of Lamentations written?
by Jules Saturn inso i was researching about 587 and 607 and couldn't help but notice that the wbts states that the writing of the book of lamentations was written by jeremiah near jerusalem and was completed in 607 bc.
chapters 2 and 4 of this book describe jehovah's anger towards jerusalem and the terrible effects of jerusalem's siege taking place in chapter 4. can someone clear this up?
was this book written in 607?

JWs shunning other active JWs
by Roger Kirkpatrick inhow many others have noticed how common it is for active jws to ostracize and shun other active jws?
as far back as i can recall, jws have had an ongoing problem with cliques within congregations, and special needs talks would be given from time to time to address that trend.
but, it seems to me that the practice has become even more pronounced with entire congregations actively shunning other congregations.

The Org wants exactly this when they refer to that action as "taking note of the wrongdoers" based on Paul's words.
Also, if a congregation follows strictly all the ruled from the org, the JWs will feel under too much pressure from their elders. Then, if they get to know of another cong that doesn't take the rules soo 'right', they (actually feel jealous for the partial freedom) tend to criticize this less madatory cong, elders etc. in order to they feel that their suffering is justified.

I know the guy that wrote the insight books and he was awake at the time. I think he was doing his best in writing this stuff but not going completely back over to the dark side.
CrazyGuy, seriously? It's well known that the team who wrote Aid to understanding were awake. But the guys who made this "update" too? LOL the current GB probably will avoid even thinking of the existence of a Biblical Dictionary of their own.
